Hi Experts,

We planned to buy the DataArchitect product, but deal to some reasons (which
we feel angry about), the non-Enterprise version was brought.

We need the Enterprise version in order to use the repository, but our
15-day evaluation license is expiring in 2-3 days. I wonder how we can
request extension of the period, since we found that on re-installation, we
cannot extend the evaluation period.

Thanks.

Rgds.,
Fan.

You need to contact Sybase sales to discuss extending the eval period.
They should be happy to work with you, and might be able to help make
the Enterprise version more affordable.

Hi Mike,

But before the business issue is settled, we wanna to have a renew key to
extend the evaluation period (since the trial version has expired, but we
are using it for the project).

Sybase (Hong Kong) said they have no way to generate temporary keys and
asked if I may contact Sybase US myself.

We think we stated our requirement clearly before our evaluation of the
product, and for evaluation we were pointed to the evaluation software which
include the repository function.

Thanks.

I'm in the US, and I'm totally unfamiliar with how things work in Hong Kong.
If you evaluated the Enterprise version, and liked it, then you should
purchase it. If your company only bought the non-enterprise version,
then all I can suggest is try to get them to change their minds. Sybase
seems to have acted properly, from what you say. Have you contacted
Sybase US to ask them for help?

Hi Mike,

The point is that the evaluation version I got includes the repository
function, and we liked it, but what we quoted and got (bought) is found to
be a non-repository version. We cannot suddenly ask for double the budget.

Thanks.

You should still contact your Sybase salesperson. They may be able to
assist you in gaining access to the repository so that you can extract
any models that may have been consolidated. This would at least allow
you not to lose any work that has already been done while you pursue a
resoltuion on the budget issues to obtain a licensed copy of the
repository.
